About the course

Over a 2-day period, learners will gain the knowledge and skills to identify signs of mental ill-health, engage in supportive conversations, and guide individuals towards appropriate professional help. Topics covered include depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD, psychosis, self-harm, suicide risk, and more.

The Level 3 Award in Mental Health First Aid in the Workplace is a nationally recognised qualification designed for those with a responsibility for supporting mental wellbeing in the workplace. This includes line managers, supervisors, HR professionals, and wellbeing leads.

Learners must be at least 18 years old on the first day of training. While there are no other entry requirements, a Level 2 standard of literacy is advised to support understanding of course materials.

The qualification is valid for 3 years. To maintain certification, learners must complete a refresher course before their certificate expiry date.

The course includes a 25-question multiple-choice exam. Learners must score at least 18 to achieve a pass.
